Simple to use with fantastic video for the price, June 9, 2010 By T. Few Logitech contiunes to produce fantastic products. I was looking for a web camera to replace a very ancient and grainy legacy web cam. This product was simple to set-up and I like the stand that it comes with because it will not clip onto the front of my monitor. Primarily using this for Skype calls and the quality of the video and audio is very apparent and crisp. Fantastic product for the money.

Plug and Play for Linux, May 14, 2010 By K. Ketterer I use Ubuntu Linux as my operating system and this camera worked out of the box. It does what I need it to do (Skype, nothing like) and the price was right. Don’t expect TV quality for this price. I already had a microphone so that was not a consideration. This is a buy recommendation.
Web Cam, May 10, 2010 By Carlos Chacon Chaves Really excellent cam, only terrible thing I found is that if you go a small quick the image gets a bit blurry that’s all
Cheap product but low quality picture!, April 12, 2010 By Vitta I bought Logitech C120 because it was the cheapest in the store, but its features were the same like of more expensive webcams. When I brought it home, it was very simple to install the cam. It took me less than 2 minutes. It is truly plug-and-play. BUT picture quality twisted out to be very terrible, grayish and blurry. It hurt my eyes to use it. Its quality is really unacceptable for me comparing to the picture I used to have with my ancient built-in mainframe webcam that recently failed.
Very nice for the money, March 5, 2010 By Ann I ordered this from Amazon for the best price. The image on my previous Logitech QuickCam IM was very grainy and I was never pleased with it. After finding [...] and being able to see what the pictures looked like on many webcams I chose to order this one because (1) the cost (2) the images shows were fine for me. I’m very pleased with the quality of the picture. I don’t use it often just for Skypeing on occasion. I already had speakers and mic. It was simple to set up and use.
Well value the money!, January 8, 2010 By Philip Yeoh I had used Logitech’s Quick Cam Chat for the past few years. But, after recently upgrading to Windows 7 I found that there were no newer drivers available from Logitech any more, so I chose to look for another budget webcam which could support Windows 7. I didn’t require a webcam with a microphone or headset since I’ve already got an existing mic.
The C120 caught my eye because although it was cheap, it was also excellent (in fact the picture quality is much, much better than my ancient Quick Cam Chat) It has drivers for Windows 7 32-bit AND 64-bit. Setup was quick and a no-brainer. The LWS (Logitech Webcam Software) has an auto update feature which is very convenient. The webcam easily hooks on your monitor with its built-in clip, and it even has a small green LED to show when it’s on. The black end is very stylish too.
At such an affordable price, I’m considering getting another C120 for my Dell Studio mainframe (the built-in webcam is below average) The Logitech C120 is a fantastic webcam if you’re on a budget but still want decent picture quality.

May be ok for PC, but not excellent for a Mac, June 1, 2010 By L. Frankel This webcam may work for both Mac and PC, but I would not recommend it for use with a Mac.
Logitech does not seem to support any advanced features for this cam. There are no software downloads for Mac that are available for PC. I am using this cam for looking outside to post to an internet site, and the quality just isn’t there. I know that it does not have a high resolution, but that was not required for looking outside.
I bought this and a Logitech mouse at the same time and the mouse is having the same issues. This will be the last time I buy Logitech for my Macintosh computers.
getting something else, May 21, 2010 By Mishell Korpilla Realized when I opened it up that built-in microphone was not a standard on web cams. Comes with very poor quality microphone and ear cut. Picture quality is lousy and the shape of the webcam makes it hard to manually focus it.
High quality webcam, April 26, 2010 By Merve Kaya I’ve had categorically no problems with this, fits my 23″ Asus monitor perfectly, integrates seamlessly with Win7. I’d just like to point out that, apparently when I chat on Skype with others, after the conversation, Skype gives them a message along the lines of: “Wasn’t that high quality webcam fantastic? Don’t you wish your webcam was as excellent as that?” I find this hilarious I like my “high quality” webcam.
Like it, like it, like it!, April 25, 2010 By Pat J. Vanhooser I bought this webcam to use with Skype to talk to my family in Australia. It does a Fantastic job and is perfect for this use. The sound quality is just like talking to someone meeting beside you. The price is right and does the job. Don’t expect movie quality…but for talking to people around the world it’s all you need.
Logitech webcam, April 10, 2010 By F. T. Haydl Bought for webcam purposes; to Skype with family members. It works very well. Apparently it does other things. Haven’t tested those; therefore, unable to give review of additional features.

Pretty Much As Expected, June 6, 2010 By Satisfied Grandpa Since we’ll be moving once we retire we wanted to be able to stay in touch visually with our grandchildren. So I bought four cameras … one for my wife and myself and one each for my kids. They set up easily in Windows XP and worked with Skype without a hitch. Resolution and sound were about what I expected from a moderately priced camera. If the light isn’t just right, there are dark and light spots, but it’s obvious who you’re seeing. The sound is more than adequate. All in all I’m satisfied with the cameras and look forward to them serving the purpose for which they were bought.
I am very satisfied with this webcam., June 1, 2010 By CY I did not use its build-in mac, so I don’t know its sound quality. But the picture quality is very excellent.
Excellent regard, May 31, 2010 By SG Fantastic inexpensive webcam. Simple to set up (plug and play). One complaint – flimsy in the way it attaches to mainframe screens. Not a huge deal for me though as I only attach it when I am making a Skype video call. Overall a excellent buy.
web cam, May 15, 2010 By Lauren F. Pearl We bought this web cam for our son who lives in Brazil. We skype with him weekly. But, his web cam was several years ancient, and the picture quality was not very excellent. It is hard to buy these kinds of products in Brazil, so we bought it for him and mailed it out. The picture quality is quite excellent, and as long as he has a strong internet connection, it is nearly like being at the table with him.
Fantastic!, May 14, 2010 By Mary Lou Williams I bought 4 of these Logitech C-500 Webcams. One was for my husband and I and the others were for our children so we could easily
and inexpensively communicate with them across the state and at the same time, see our Grandchildren. This, I would say, is the midrange priced Webcam from Logitech.
I am very impressed with the ease of setting it up, using it and the quality of the product as well as quality of the picture. I could not be more pleased. The C-500 comes with an instruction book as well as software needed to set up. I run windows 7, 64bit OS and it is compatible with this Webcam.
I bought the Logitech because I have other products by Logitech and have always been impressed with their products and support.
Unless you have a business and need more from your Webcam, you don’t have to spend more money for a excellent quality Webcam. Logitech Webcam C500 with 1.3MP Video and Built-in Microphone
Amazon.com made these buys more affordable and the Webcams were expected in a timely style.

Not terrible, but not excellent., November 2, 2009 By M. Farber I got this webcam for someone else, so I can’t comment on ease of use or any of the fun features because the person hasn’t figured those out yet. The picture quality on the receiving end, but, is not fantastic. It’s grainy and seems to lag. I can’t complain too much given the price, but if I could redo the buy, I would spend more money and get a better quality product.
Simple TO INSTALL AND USE!!!, June 3, 2009 By Taryn B. Hill Even tho I have a cam in my mainframe, It was still simple to use to try out. The installation was quick and super simple! I recommend this web cam to anyone who needs one!!

DON’T BUY, January 11, 2010 By Ludmila Kalman I can not get it to work. I have tried on two different computers. I follow the installation process just as is says to do but the camera just won’t work. Spend a small extra and buy a logitech camera, those are fantastic.
Nearly perfect but…, September 12, 2009 By John Patrick Ryan It works well, very excellent image, very excellent sound quality, very simple set-up and installation…a very excellent device for such a cheap price……..its just that when I bought it, I thought it would clip on my mainframe…if you keep on moving your mainframe, it wouldnt stay place, plus the cord is too small. I couldve given it a 4 or a 5 star, but those features irk me so much. possibly my fault too, should have checked it more. but if those features do not bother you, then by all means, i highly recommend it.
Excellent affordable webcam, May 10, 2009 By Ritchie Sun
I bought this webcam for my brother. So far he has no complaints. One thing you need to know, the “clip” doesn’t go (not adjustable). So technically its not really a clip since it cannot be adjusted. The cam works well though.
It works, April 18, 2009 By A. Warn It’s a bit grainy but does the job nicely but, the built in mic isn’t exactly ‘excellent.’
Not too terrible, February 14, 2009 By bmkd My brother and I wanted to get webcams, so we can video call each other via Skype. I didn’t want to spend a lot of money, since this is the initially time I ever did anything like this. After much shopping around, I chose to give this webcam a try. I only paid $10 for it, so I figured there is not much to lose. The software CD that came with the webcam didn’t work, but I was able to download the software frankly from the company’s website. The software is very basic. There is nothing like here. The webcam pretty much worked straight away after I had the software installed. Just plugged it into the USB drive and it worked. It works really excellent with Skype. The picture and microphone quality isn’t terrible, but I really don’t have anything to compare it with. My brother bought the Logitech Quickcam S5500 (he paid $40), and his picture quality isn’t much better. For now, I will keep this webcam and don’t see a need to spend any more money on another webcam. If you are looking for something basic that’s simple to use, and you don’t want to spend a lot of money, I would certainly recommend this webcam.

Excellent for talking to and seeing mom, June 10, 2010 By N. Zaboy Solved several problems with talking to my family long distance involving audio and visual issues. Fantastic for elder and possibly ADA exchanges.
Webcam, June 8, 2010 By Tuloons Web cam works fantastic! Don’t use it as often I as I thought I would, but am very pleased with it.
Expensive for a webcam but well value it, June 6, 2010 By Macajuel When the built in webcam on my notebook died, I opted for an add-on usb webcam. Naturally I looked to my favorite peripheral maker, Logitech for a replacement. Initially the price ($99) sounded like a ridiculous price to pay for a webcam especially when much cheaper models started at under $20 but believe me, this webcam is well value the price of admission with an astounding feature set.
PROS
Astounding still image and video clarity – most webcams claim 1.3 megapixel sensors that often show poor and very grainy images but this Logitech in particular has a 2 megapixel sensor capable of compelling 8 megapixel still images and hd quality video at 30 fps in 720p. I use this cam primarily for Skype and all of my contacts at amazed at how clean and apparent the picture quality is.
Auto-focus – once this mode is set to on, the Webcam Pro 9000 will re-focus your image when you go closer to or father away from the camera itself. I will personally never go back to a webcam with manual focus ever again as this sure beats having to focus the camera each time I switched position. This mode can get slightly annoying though as it camera seems to also make micro adjustments for any movement I make at all.
Face tracking feature (up to two faces simultaneously) – This is a fun small feature that I haven’t really found any practical purpose for but it’s nice to have if that’s your thing. Despite the fact that this camera has no wide range of motion, it is somehow able to keep focused on my face regardless of where I am positioned in front of the screen. Amazingly, it is able to do this with more than one face as well.
Auto Light Adjustment – Even when I’m meeting in a poorly lit room, the camera auto adjusts to give the best image doable even despite the poor lighting conditions. This feature is not a gimmick and works really well.
Cons
Very expensive for a webcam
Much larger than expected
Not calculated with mainframe screens in mind – though I have in fact been able to set this up successfully on a notebook screen, it is hardly ideal and is somewhat hard to maneuver.
Not very adjustable – this webcam does not have a very wide range of motion though I reckon this is salaried by the Carl Zeiss lens which has an extremely wide range of view. Because of the design of this webcam though, you categorically cannot twist the unit left or right and you can only just barely go the camera upwards or downwards.
Even despite the high cost, I am truly impressed with this feature rich, and very high end webcam. Even if all supporting features were removed, I would still have bought this camera if only for the astounding images and video feeds it produces.
Impressive webcam, May 29, 2010 By Kevinep Simple to install on my HP9360f with Vista 64 Home Premium. I like the camera, it is a fantastic looking design, fits well on top of the LCD monitor, removes quickly if you need to place it on another pc, the pic quality is brilliant. I wish there was a built-in shutter to add a layer of intruder protection, but that is probably due to the fact that on my previous pc I was using the Logitech Webcam 4000 and it had a nifty, if not a bot flimsy, lens cover that you could lower over the lens when you wanted to ensure no one could intrude on you without your knowledge like owing to a hack of your machine or something.
Overall, 2 thumbs up.
I’ll be seeing you !, May 29, 2010 By Paula Fantastic product. Simple set up and fantastic quality picture and sound. Very compact. My daughter is an international model and I bought two so we can see each other and talk for free. My friend has a different brand of webcam and his quality does not compare. I highly recommend this product!!

Fantastic Webcam, May 7, 2010 By Amy The picture on this is really excellent even when using my wireless card! Simple to use, install and travels fantastic! I would buy it again.
Fantastic Webcan!, February 27, 2010 By Murph I am an older non-techie, and I installed this webcam easily with Skype. Picture quality is excellent, sound brilliant. Although I have no experience with other webcams, I would recommend this Logitech model without qualification.
My mainframe is 4 years ancient, but the webcam performance is still excellent running on Windows XP. I also installed this webcam on another computer and made an error (mine) and needed to contact Logitech via email. It took several messages for Logitech to know my question, but I was satisfied with response time and ultimate result.
Fantastic!, January 4, 2010 By C. Davy I got this as a gift for my Dad, so this is based on the handful of times I got to use it while I was staying at his house.
We used this to talk to my cousin in Iraq via Skype, and it worked well. The picture look fantastic on my Dad’s mainframe (which was running Windows XP). I reckon any picture issues across Skype were because of internet issues in Iraq. The wide slant lens let most if not all of our family (20+ people) into the camera frame. The only time she ever complained about the audio was when we were all talking to her at the same time, and even then she could ordinarily pick out a persons question or comment. That was ordinarily the person speaking the loudest or closest to the camera/mic.
I didn’t get to explore the built-in software much ’cause I was ordinarily in a rush to get the camera working to talk to my cousin.
It worked wonderfully and helped make for an incredible Christmas day!
Fantastic Camera for the $$$!!!, April 28, 2008 By Kevin C. Lavin Jr. Wonderful camera with incredible resolution. I’m a long time computer buff, so I know what I’m talking about. I got this new for $30.00 and use it all the time on my mainframe. Works PERFECTLY with Skype and I talk with distant family members everyday. Don’t bother with more expensive cameras unless you’re some kind of “certified-type” webcam person. This one clips on, loads up and runs fantastic.
Hazy Cam, April 1, 2008 By I. Sen I returned to get the Pro cam…its only 20 bucks more, but value it. This one is way too hazy….bettr to buy the 20 $ cameras, than this one with 50$
