Won’t work with Windows 7 64 bit OS, April 10, 2010

The title says it all. I have Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit operating system running on an Intel i7 920 PC. Logitech’s camera software will not install correctly. You can’t get a picture at all. I spent over an hour on the phone with Logitech Support and also corresponded via emails. The net effect was no help. Their software gives Script Errors, Not Win32 application errors, and it thinks I am running an AMD 32 bit PC. Don’t buy this product for use on an Intel Windows 7 machine. I does not work. I will work fine on the obsolete XP operating system that I no linger own.

This is a fantastic webcam and the buy went smoothly. The seller was initially rate! The only aspect I am not crazy about is that I cannot fix cam securely to top of my mainframe when open but have to kind of “perch” it. I wish it had a clip of some kind. That is my only complaint, but. The lens is very sharp and apparent, the gap is sensitive to ambient light so that my viewers always reckon I am in a well-lit room. The microphone is brilliant with no “noise” and yet is very sensitive.

superb image (carl zeiss glass) and plug and play — use it with skype … did not download any logitech software, just plugged it into a usb port, set it on one of my monitors, booted skype and it worked initially time … the cost is prob in the glass, but again, image is perfectomundo … excellent luck with your pro 9000 … regards, craig

Fantastic cam, attachment could be better, April 8, 2010

This webcam has fantastic quality in photos and video! I really like the wide slant too. The only problem I have with it is the attachment clip on the back of the cam. It limits your ability to adjust the slant of the camera more so than other Logitech webcams. I prefer the horizontal cams over the vertical cams. Overall very satisfied!

Simple to use with fantastic video for the price, June 9, 2010

Logitech contiunes to produce fantastic products. I was looking for a web camera to replace a very ancient and grainy legacy web cam. This product was simple to set-up and I like the stand that it comes with because it will not clip onto the front of my monitor. Primarily using this for Skype calls and the quality of the video and audio is very apparent and crisp. Fantastic product for the money.

I bought one of these for my Mainframe and found out with the built-in stand I could use it on my PC too. I’ve seen the same item for a LOT more money. I reckon It’s well value the money , simple to install, takes Fantastic Photo’s and I am Glad I Looked here at Amazon before I bought one somewhere else….I was also impressed with the BOX It came in!!! I know you can spend a whole lot more and get a a lot less! I am very pleased with the my buy.

Excellent cam for price, May 28, 2010

I had the Logitech 200 which was really terrible — but this one is much better. A better quality lens as someone else pointed out and the picture is pretty excellent and colors are also pretty right but wish they were a small better. Not a lot of like features which is fine for me. bought it at Radio shack which had it on sale for $29.95. Value it at that price for sure.

I got this at a store that starts with W and ends with a T  and due to a pricing error on their part I was able to get this for $32.00 the normal price for the “lesser” model C250.
Also it came with a headset, which I reckon is only when you buy this at that chain.
Set up/installation was simple (on XP Pro) – I didn’t install the Logitech Vid software – don’t need it. I use Skype. The basic adjustments to pic quality will be incorporated into skype from Logitech software – (I reckon) – which provides adjustments such as contrast, brightness, sharpness, white balance, etc. which you can adjust on skype, OR by going to logitech software. The auto white balance works well, and i adjusted the other parameters only minimally.
I only use this with Skype – the built in mic is fantastic (i compared it to the mainframe mic, and the headset mic, and the webcam mic was clearly the winner), and the pic quality (I am only using mid-resolution, with a quicker internet/mainframe, one should be able to use higher resolutions). People at the other end say the picture they see is crisp and apparent, which is right by looking at my own video window on the mainframe – I am impressed. The greatest thing is, the pic quality is retained EVEN IN LOW LIGHT – a problem that many webcams have distress with – this webcam somehow adjusts to low light and still provides a fantastic pic. I also like the focusing ring on the cam – helps you focus and make the pic sharp and apparent – I also tried pointing it at far off objects, and the pic still remains pretty apparent without much adjusting.
To the other reviewer: If you meant “right light” feature by “auto light”: this model does NOT have right-light feature! It only has “right sound” feature. Auto white balance still works well though, but, it’s not same as “right-light” feature. you can verify it here under features:

The mounting clip is so-so…it’s just ok, doesn’t go on my mainframe screen, but wobbles easily..I am still playing with it.
the USB cable is 6 ft, longer than most webcams have, and is helpful if you want to show someone your surroundings, etc.
Build quality is decent, and if I am not flawed, the lens on this one is glass? whereas the models below this one have plastic ones…(i am not 100% sure on this)
I have not tried any gimmicky effects, etc – no need for those for me – Just basic, apparent video and audio is all i needed, and this one does the job.
The price difference between this and c-250 is due to the higher (incl. HD) video resolutions this cam is capable of.
Because I have only had it for a week, can’t give 5 stars yet.
Overall, fantastic cam even for the suggested price, but categorically BRILLIANT for the price I paid, which was about $20 less than normal, as mentioned above.
Fantastic Webcam, but Use Skype instead of Logitech’s Vid, February 3, 2010

Brilliant top-notch webcam. Fantastic drivers, configurability and reliability. Insert the CD and follow the directions.
The Logitech Webcam C300’s auto-lighting and auto-sound reins are fantastic, exactly what is required for ideal webcam video conferencing in pretty much any background.
Using this webcam with Skype, it’s flawless, reliable, and hassle-free. Brilliant product. This product also has a glass lense, not plastic, which means better video quality and longevity due to eresistance from scratching and going cloudy over time due to aging plastic.
Note: Download and use Skype software (free) instead of using Logitech’s built-in “Logitech Vid” software, it’s junk. Also, the clip is specifically calculated for flatscreen monitors.
I saved myself $5-10 by purchasing this product at Wal-Mart, but it’s still a fantastic price on Amazon for this camera.

I use Ubuntu Linux as my operating system and this camera worked out of the box. It does what I need it to do (Skype, nothing like) and the price was right. Don’t expect TV quality for this price. I already had a microphone so that was not a consideration. This is a buy recommendation.

I bought Logitech C120 because it was the cheapest in the store, but its features were the same like of more expensive webcams. When I brought it home, it was very simple to install the cam. It took me less than 2 minutes. It is truly plug-and-play. BUT picture quality twisted out to be very terrible, grayish and blurry. It hurt my eyes to use it. Its quality is really unacceptable for me comparing to the picture I used to have with my ancient built-in mainframe webcam that recently failed.

I ordered this from Amazon for the best price. The image on my previous Logitech QuickCam IM was very grainy and I was never pleased with it. After finding [...] and being able to see what the pictures looked like on many webcams I chose to order this one because (1) the cost (2) the images shows were fine for me. I’m very pleased with the quality of the picture. I don’t use it often just for Skypeing on occasion. I already had speakers and mic. It was simple to set up and use.

I had used Logitech’s Quick Cam Chat for the past few years. But, after recently upgrading to Windows 7 I found that there were no newer drivers available from Logitech any more, so I chose to look for another budget webcam which could support Windows 7. I didn’t require a webcam with a microphone or headset since I’ve already got an existing mic.
The C120 caught my eye because although it was cheap, it was also excellent (in fact the picture quality is much, much better than my ancient Quick Cam Chat) It has drivers for Windows 7 32-bit AND 64-bit. Setup was quick and a no-brainer. The LWS (Logitech Webcam Software) has an auto update feature which is very convenient. The webcam easily hooks on your monitor with its built-in clip, and it even has a small green LED to show when it’s on. The black end is very stylish too.
At such an affordable price, I’m considering getting another C120 for my Dell Studio mainframe (the built-in webcam is below average) The Logitech C120 is a fantastic webcam if you’re on a budget but still want decent picture quality.
